Who is anomy

Katerina Marmagioli

Katerina travels the world. She picks the best quality material and stories. Images and stones. Techniques, craftmanship and smells. And then she put them all together into unique pieces. Anomy pieces.

The Anomy idea has neither origin nor boundaries. It was born somewhere between a Latin party on a roof garden in Damascus and a picnic in the Nan Madol ruins in Pohnpei; during brunch in a castle in Flanders and a bumpy jeepride in Albanian Thethi; while meditating with Sinhalese monk, on overnight train trips to frozen Petrazavodsk, over raucous brainstorming session in Athens and Bricklane Sunday afternoons.

Katerina first saw Anomy on her bed in Dhaka, where a pearl necklace for her mother was haphazardly joined with her Burmese stone necklace. She fell in love with baroque pearls on a hot Saturday evening in Dhaka's Gulshan 2 market. She learnt from the pearl experts of Rarotonga about Tahitian pearls, their rarest colours and shiniest lustres. She sojourned in St. Martins to develop her personal style of jewellery design. She picks coloured stones, one by one, in IdarOberstein. She sits among craftsmen in Athens. She talks with designers and artisans in London to expose herself to new styles, techniques, and ideas. She is always looking for new Anomy tales.

And so the story goes...

GIA, pearls, gemological institute of america
GIA, coloured stones, colored stones, gemological institute of america
HRD, Diamond certification, diamond grader
